Below are the dates for remaining regular meetings for the severe weather shelter program this winter. All are at noon, in the basement of KeyBank in Friday Harbor.
Jan.: 23, 30
Feb.: 6, 20
March: 6
The shelter will be activated at 8 p.m., Jan. 25 at the 395 Spring Street location for the Point in Time Count. Abby Anderson and Ryan Page will undertake the count for San Juan County. There will be a hot meal and warm place to sleep. There will be a volunteer or two there to survey individuals who might show up that night and the individuals who do show up are under no obligation to be surveyed or to provide any personal info.
Open shifts are:
- 8-10 p.m., two volunteers
- 10 p.m.-6 a.m., two volunteers, one with a stipend
- 6 a.m.-close, two volunteers
