Get ready for an evening of intellectual excitement and community spirit as the Knowledge Bowl returns to San Juan Island on Wednesday, March 5! Hosted by Mason Turnage with musical accompaniment by Annika Bjorling, this dynamic event blends “Jeopardy”-style competition with the energy and camaraderie of classic college quiz bowls.

The action takes place at the San Juan Community Theatre, where the Friday Harbor High School Jazz Band will set the stage with a special performance at 6:30 p.m., leading into the main event at 7 p.m.

This year’s competition features seven teams, including the Friday Harbor Middle School eighth-graders, combined teams of ninth- and 10th-graders, and 11th- and 12th-graders from Friday Harbor High School, as well as teams from the Soroptimists, Rotary Club, Lions and Kiwanis. A special thanks to our generous round sponsors, Roche Harbor Resort and The REC, for their continued support.

Expect a night filled with engaging trivia spanning geography, history, pop culture, local knowledge and more! While cheering on your favorite team, you can enjoy delicious treats from the high school Parent Teacher Organization bake sale and take part in an exciting fundraising raffle. Grand prizes include a one-year family racquet sports membership at the San Juan Golf and Country Club, a Roche Harbor getaway and an Xbox Series S console.

Admission is $5, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. All proceeds benefit the San Juan Public Schools Foundation, which is dedicated to fostering educational excellence, supporting teachers and empowering student success.
