Wednesday, Sept. 11 the San Juan Island School District Board of Directors will hold a Special (open) School Board Meeting beginning at 3 pm at the school district office (285 Blair Avenue) in order to conduct interviews to fill school board director position #1 which is currently vacant. At this meeting, there will be an Executive Session from 3:55 pm to 4:10 pm in accordance with RCW 42.30 110(g) to evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment and this part of the meeting will not be open to the public. In addition, on Friday, Sept. 13 the San Juan Island School District Board of Directors will hold a Special (open) School Board Meeting in order to attend the all islands board and legislative meeting beginning at 10 am at the Orcas Island School District Office.

Persons with disabilities and those who may have difficulty physically attending the board meetings are encouraged to contact the school district office at 360-378-4133 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting so that we can arrange for your participation.

Please note effective June 30, 2024, all regular and special meetings of the board at which a final action is taken or formal public testimony is accepted, except executive sessions or emergency meetings, will be audio recorded and such recordings will be maintained for at least one year. The recording will include the comments of the directors, and the comments of members of the public if formal public testimony is accepted at the meeting.
