San Juan County WSU Extension welcomes Clinton Gauthier as 4-H Program Coordinator

Submitted by the San Juan County WSU Extension.

San Juan County WSU Extension is pleased to announce that Clinton Gauthier starts as new San Juan County Extension 4-H Coordinator on Dec. 2. Clinton brings skills and knowledge in the 4-H program as well as problem solving, communication, administration, and organization skills.

4-H is the largest youth development organization in the nation. In 4‑H programs, kids and teens complete hands-on projects in areas like animal science, agriculture, healthy living, arts and civic engagement. Youth are encouraged to take on leadership roles within our 4-H club programs, such as holding an officer position or organizing community service. 4-H is focused on Positive Youth Development model where youth learn by doing and where they receive guidance from adult mentors who help them discover sparks of learning and thrive.

Clinton Gauthier grew up on San Juan Island, immersing himself in 4-H from 5th grade onward. As a member of the Country Critters and San Juan Livestock clubs, he displayed his skills by exhibiting rabbits, chickens, and sheep. Clinton’s involvement extended beyond animal husbandry, as he also explored photography and actively participated in state and local leadership roles. Serving as a State Ambassador, he attended Local, State, and National 4-H Events.

Clinton’s dedication to the 4-H organization continues as a volunteer on the Know Your Government Conference Core Committee. He is thrilled to return to his roots in San Juan County and serve as your 4-H Program Coordinator, passionate about inspiring both youth and adults to discover the joy and fulfillment of 4-H.

Michelle Green, our county’s current Interim 4-H Coordinator, will work with Clinton to create a smooth transition as he begins his role. We are excited that he will be joining our team!

We, along with our 4-H volunteer leaders, invite you to attend a meet and greet event on Dec. 4 from 11-2pm to welcome Clinton as he starts his new position with 4-H. The event is at the San Juan County WSU Extension office located at 221 Weber Way, LL.
