San Juan Community Theatre seeks $7500 to upgrade our unreliable lightboard!

Submitted by the San Juan Community Theatre.

SJCT is in need of a new lightboard for our mainstage theatre. We host 150 plus events throughout the year, serving the community with up to 14,000 audience members and 300+ volunteers backstage and in the front of house. The lightboard is the brain that controls the lights in the theatre and unfortunately, it has become unreliable. We’d like to upgrade to a more reliable system and are seeking $7500 in donations to help make this possible. San Juan Community Theatre is raising money for this project as part of the San Juan Island Community Foundation’s 2023 County Fair Giving Campaign. Through this program, the first $1,000 in donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Community Foundation. SJCT is also eligible for up to $2,500 in bonus grants awarded throughout the fair. To be eligible for matching funds, donations to the SJCT must be made during the four days of the 2023 County Fair – Aug. 16–19. Donors can contribute in person at the SJICF fair booth, online at www.sjicf.org/fair, by phone to SJICF at 360-378-1001, or by mailing a check payable to SJICF (dated between Aug. 16–19) with San Juan Community Theatre in the memo line to P.O. Box 1352, Friday Harbor, WA 98250. The Community Foundation will grant the raised funds to SJCT following the County Fair.

San Juan Community Theatre’s mission is enriching community through the performing arts.
