Join local actors for a performance of the “RidgeLine” trilogy over the next three weekends.
The original “Ridgeline” play, written by Miguel Andres Herbert, premiered on San Juan Island 11 years ago and will be performed in staged readings at the San Juan Island Community Theatre’s Performing Arts Resource Center at 70 Salt Spring Road. This is a pay what you can event.
The series includes “A Proper Slater,” which visits Matt Slater, from ages 5-50. It tells the tale of his family history and how he came to be the person he was. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1.
“Send Me a Dream” focuses on Matt Slater, now pushing 70 years old. Slater goes back to his dreams to try to change things that happened in Vietnam. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9.
The final play, “RidgeLine,” will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16. This is the story of two old Vietnam vets, life long buddies since the Vietnam War, now residing in an old soldiers’ home.
The performances will be high level staged readings, with full sound and some blocking.
The trilogy stars Jennifer Doll; Paul Walsh; Andy Gutierrez; Swil Kanim; Jim and Jan Zurcher; Pete Dawson; Eric Concord; and Laura Concord; Shannon Plummer; Maureen See; and Michael Herber.
