Island Rec’s fifth annual Resolution Run 5k and Salish Splash had a great turnout on Jan. 1. Fifty-four registered runners began their year joining the annual run. According to Island Rec staff, it was one of the largest turnouts the organization has had for the Resolution Run. Both runners and walkers enjoyed the sunny, although breezy, weather at Jackson Beach. A few brave participants even jumped into the waters for the Salish Splash aspect of the event after the run, with the swimmers warming up by the bonfire that event organizers had prepared beforehand.
First place was Jon Munn at 17:42, second place went to Victor Capron, 18:17, and third was Zacharay Wenner at 19:08.
