Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) helped secure North America as a World Cup location.

“The Federation Internationale de Football Association World Cup not only unites billions of fans from around the world, but also generates significant tourism and economic growth,” said Larsen.

Earlier this year, Rep. Larsen joined Rep. Darin LaHood (IL-18) on a House Resolution supporting efforts to bring the 2026 FIFA World Cup to North America.

“As an avid soccer fan, I am excited the 2026 Cup is coming to the United States, Canada and Mexico,” he said. “The Cup is an opportunity to put aside differences and for folks to come together to celebrate sportsmanship, teamwork and friendship.”
