Patricia Barrett Harrah of Cape San Juan passed away peacefully at home April 22 with her husband at her side, after a long struggle with kidney disease.

She had just passed her 82nd birthday and she and Bill celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.

Pat graduated from Seattle’s Queen Anne High School in 1944, where she had been editor of the Kuay. She then attended the University of Washington, where she was affiliated with the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and served as president before graduating in 1948 with a degree in communications. That led to a 41-year career with KOMO radio and TV.

Pat and Bill retired to a vacation house they had built at the Cape but again she got busy and became secretary-treasurer of the Cape San Juan Water District for the next 13 years.

Pat is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Dr. Daniel Harrah of Juneau, Alaska, and Michael Harrah of Seattle; as well as nieces Pamela and Deborah Beery of Portland, Ore.
