The corner portion of Friday Harbor’s drugstore building has always puzzled me because the architectural style is so different than the other historic buildings on Spring Street.
Last month the original canopy was removed to make way for a new one. This change provided the perfect opportunity to look at the building with fresh eyes.

Jennifer and Bryan Johnson welcomed Gustav “Gus” Johnson Jan. 29, 2:30 p.m., weighing 7-pounds, 5.4-ounces and measuring 18.9-inches. Jenn was flown to the hospital from Friday Harbor and Bryan followed by ferry for the caesarean section, which started around 2 p.m. Family members said Gus looks very intelligent already and is joined by his sister, Hazel.
The Salish Sea Early Music Festival presents “A Broken Consort,” the second of five 2012 Salish Sea Early Music Festival performances on the San Juans.
“A Broken Consort” can be heard 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12 at St. David’s Church.
