Next up in ‘Know Your Island Walk’ series: Land Bank Westside Preserve

Meet San Juan County Land Bank Commissioner Amanda Azous and walk the new Djarf trail connection on the Land Bank Westside Preserve in the next chapter of the Know Your Island Walk series, Saturday, April 26, 1-4 p.m.

In addition to an assortment of wildflowers, walkers will be able to see prairie restoration activities supported by the Land Bank’s new plant nursery, located at the Land Bank office in town, on Argyle Avenue.

The 2013 summer work of the Youth Conservation Corps and history of the area will also be featured as part of the walk.

The walk is roughly two miles, roundtrip, terrain is rustic trail, rating is moderate. Dogs on leashes are welcome.

Meet and park in the upper parking lot of Lime Kiln Point State Park on Westside Road. Payment for parking or Discovery Pass is required. Info: www.sanjuanislandtrails.org.
