Hoonied’s (pronounced ‘who needs’) is a new children’s clothing store located in downtown Friday Harbor at 135 Spring St., Suite F.
Hoonied’s aims to offer San Juan Island an option for affordable new children’s clothing with your everyday tops, pants, leggings, sleep sets, socks and underwear with sizes ranging from newborn to 14. Hoonied’s also carries a selection of local school uniform clothing along with a children’s play area and a place to relax for the non-shopper in the group.
Hoonied’s is a long-time idea of Brian and Theresa Carlson, who currently own and operate Vic’s Drive-In on Second Street in Friday Harbor. Their philosophy behind Hoonied’s is to provide islanders with a local option for their children’s clothing needs with new reputable brand name affordable everyday clothing, providing quality at a value price. They hope their store can offer islanders with a local option to shop, eliminating the stress and expense of having to venture off-island or ordering online, hoping the sizing is correct when they need to replenish their children’s closet. Having the opportunity to meet many community members through Vic’s, a current theme arose about how difficult it can be to get children’s everyday clothing on island and Brian and Theresa realized that their long-time idea of a kids clothing store could be a match with the community’s needs. The opportunity arose to open Hoonied’s at its current location at 135 Spring Street, Suite F and Brian and Theresa jumped at the chance, opening the store on Feb. 6, 2018.
The immediate feedback from store visitors was that the concept was greatly appreciated by islanders being able to pick up new clothes for their growing kids. Brian and Theresa invite you to stop by and have a look and encourage your children to enjoy the play area.
Hoonied’s, personally curated kids’ staples, is located at 135 Spring St., Suite F, Friday Harbor. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
