San Jan Island Oriental Medicine specialist and Qigong teacher Nicholas Corrin’s first publication, “The Power of Letting Go: Transforming Fear into Love,” scored a top honor as award-winning finalist in the Self-Help category of The 2013 USA Best Books Awards.
Sponsored by USA Book News, the contest reviewed more than 1,500 entries from independent and mainstream publishers, including St. Martin’s Press, Random House, Simon & Schuster and Penguin.
Only one winner and one finalist in each category of the contest received awards.
Northwest Literary Review says, “Nicholas Corrin has accomplished what few writers have been able to do: he has drawn from the wisdom of the ages, as well as from current scientific research and ground-breaking discoveries… Combined with a lifetime of experience in the healing arts, Nicholas has condensed this wisdom into a single volume, and has done so in a style comprehensible to the average reader. This is more than a self-help book – it is a must-read for complicated times.”
Born in the United Kingdom, Corrin has traveled widely and taught at various colleges before undergoing formal training in Oriental and Ayurvedic Medicine.
Corrin’s writings span diverse areas including the dynamics of energy, self-mastery, the science of movement, immunological issues, imaginative writings, and the poetic contemplation of nature.
He currently maintains a private practice in alternative and oriental medicine on San Juan Island.
