Library issues newsletter correction

Submitted by the San Juan Island Library

The San Juan Island Library would like to correct two items on page three of the Library’s 2024 Annual Newsletter concerning the Library’s Operational Levy Adjustment listed on the upcoming Aug. 6 primary ballot. In the sentence reading, “The new levy lid lift would adjust the levy rate from 23.39 cents per $1,000 assessed value to 41 cents,” “23.39” should read “25.39,” as verified on the County Assessor’s website at https://www.sanjuancountywa.gov/1313/Assessors-Data. Also, the approximate annual increase for a $750,000 home is $117 rather than $113. The library regrets these unintended errors. We strive for accuracy in all our publications.
