The League of Women Voters of the San Juans invites the public to attend voter forums for candidates on the ballot for the Nov. 5 general election.

The Orcas forum will be Monday, Oct. 14, from 5-7:15 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Hall and the Friday Harbor forum will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the San Juan Grange.

The two candidates for State Senate District 40, Liz Lovelett (D) and Daniel Miller (R), have been invited. On Orcas, candidates for port commissioner, sewer and water district and school board have also been asked to appear. Ballots for the Nov. 5 general election are to be mailed Oct. 15, and voting begins on Oct. 18.
