This March, the San Juan Island Library will launch a variety of opportunities for community members to improve their language skills. Bilingual English-Spanish Conversation Circles will give those wanting to practice their Spanish or English a chance to do so in a casual, fun setting. English Learners’ Conversation Circles are open to speakers of all languages who want to improve their English, and sessions will include facilitated conversations about everyday topics like favorite foods or television series. In May, the English Learners’ Book Club will begin meeting, focusing on titles that are of interest and will boost confidence in both reading and discussing in English.
