Well known pianist and composer Grisha Krivchenia will perform Sunday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. at the Shaw Island Community Building. The performance is a fundraiser for Shaw’s volunteer EMS team, which is raising money for a new ambulance.

Krivchenia is popular in the San Juans, having founded the music program at the Spring Street International School, where he taught for seven years. He now divides his time between San Juan Island and Santa Fe, New Mexico and enjoys a busy recital schedule throughout the American West. Premiers of his compositions have taken place in Los Angeles, Denver and Bucharest.

The Shaw Community Building is at 42 Squaw Bay Road, about a mile from the Shaw ferry landing.
