The Friday Harbor Whale Museum will pay tribute to the deceased members of the Southern resident killers whales in its second annual “Day of the Dead” commemorative celebration, Friday, Nov. 2, 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Whale Museum.
The event will honor those orcas lost this year, as well as others that have gone missing from San Juans’ endangered population of killer whales over the years. The event, free and open to the public, features a sharing of stories, photographs and memories. Refreshments will be provided in traditional Mexican ‘Dia de los Muertos’ fashion.
Participants are encouraged to bring photos as well as stories or anecdotes to share. Info, 378-4710, ext. 23, or cindy@whalemuseum.org
