Ice cream and bikes at Island Rec’s Tour de Family on Shaw

About 20 people joined Island Rec’s Tour de Family on Shaw Island on Saturday, July 7. Participants took the ferry for free on their bikes and chose either several longer loop rides or the easy 2-mile, fairly level, paved roads to the Shaw Island County Park. Attendees of the free event stopped to tour the island’s two-room schoolhouse and the Benedictine Monastery. They also played at the beach and ate ice cream while waiting for the ferry.
