Help create new plan for San Juan County Fairgrounds | Update

Submitted by San Juan County

The San Juan County Fairgrounds staff are updating their master plan and want your input. The goal is to collect input on the historical and cultural significance of the fairgrounds, as well as how to economically sustain the fairgrounds to benefit all county residents.

Thoughts will be collected from across the county through an online survey; pop-ups on three of the ferry-served islands; and several focus groups. Questions include how the grounds and facilities can be improved and what non-fair uses you would support at the location.

Complete an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SJCFMasterPlan.

Discuss ideas, in person, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, July 13 at Market Place in Friday Harbor; from 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 13 at the Orcas Island Market; and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 14 at the Lopez Village Market.

There will also be a booth the San Juan County Fair from Aug. 15-18 to give input.

Stay up to date by following the fair and fairgrounds on social media outlets, @sjcfair, or checking the website www.sjcfair.org. For info, contact Dona Wuthnow, San Juan County Parks and Fair director at donaw@sanjuanco.com or 360-370-7452.
