Environmental activist and filmmaker Josh Fox comes from humble beginnings. When contacted by a company seeking to extract natural gas from his land on the Pennsylvania-New York border, Fox sets out on a journey to uncover the truth behind the methods used to obtain it.
What he finds out about hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” puts him on a collision course with its ill-effects on health, the environment, and the nation’s water supply.
