Free days at The Whale Musuem

Submitted by The Whale Museum

The Whale Museum staff is inviting everyone to “free days” at The Whale Museum. Admission fees will be waived through Feb, 10 – 14, daily, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Self-guided tour maps will be available to help attendees navigate through the exhibit hall. Staff wants to get the community and the Museum together!

Check out new exhibits: “The History of Endangered Orcas,” exploring over 50 years of research on the Southern Resident orcas; “The Challenge Wheel,” which helps raise awareness about the actions people can take to protect our ecosystem; and audio tours, now available in English, Spanish, German, French, Chinese, and Japanese.

The Whale Museum is located in Friday Harbor at 62 First St. N. Founded in 1976, The Whale Museum’s mission is to promote stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research. In addition to providing exhibits, the Museum also provides programs including the Marine Naturalist Training, Orca Adoption Program, SeaSound Acoustics Program, Soundwatch, San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network, and the Whale Hotline.
