Sidrah Khan graduated with her master’s in chemistry from Texas Woman’s University and was hired as a life scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in October 2016. She has been accepted at the University of Texas at Dallas to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry. Kahn is the daughter of Stephenie Falls and step-daughter of Keith Falls. She attended Friday Harbor Elementary School, graduating from Mrs. Burgess’ fifth-grade class. After middle school, she completed her high school in Texas. Khan graduated in May 2015 with her bachelor’s in biology and minor in chemistry from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.
She joined a research lab as an undergrad and continue to work in Dr. Nasrin Mirsaleh Kohan lab, studying the changes to DNA caused by platinum-based anticancer drugs.
Kahn has presented her research at several national ACS meetings and dozens of local meetings including the capitol building in Austin. She was awarded the 2016 Chancellor Research Scholar Award from Texas Woman’s University. The Chancellor Award is the highest honor in research to receive from Texas Woman’s University.
She also was a teaching assistant for her physics lab during her undergrad and graduate work.
