Famed soloists featured in Early Music ‘Sonata’

Violinist Ingrid Matthews will be among the featured performers as the Salish Sea Early Music Festival presents four internationally acclaimed soloists in its upcoming chamber music concert, Trio Sonata.

Violinist Ingrid Matthews, leader of the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, will be among the featured performers as the Salish Sea Early Music Festival presents four internationally acclaimed soloists in its upcoming chamber music concert, Trio Sonata, Sunday, May 5, 7 p.m., at San Juan Island Grange No. 966.

Matthews, described as “one of the lights on the early music’s international circuit” by the San Francisco Chronicle, will share the spotlight with celloist Susie Napper, flutist and Early Music Festival artistic director Jeffrey Cohan, and harpsichordist Hans-Jurgen Schnoor.

The concert features music by baroque-era composers Jean-Baptiste Lully, Arcangelo Corelli, Georg Phillip Telemann, and George Frideric Handel.
