Submitted by ‘Frightmare’ organizers
A walk through Friday Harbor’s haunted house is sure to thrill. The third annual “Frightmare at the Fairgrounds” returns to Friday Harbor this October.
“If you missed the last two years, try not to miss it again,” said organizers Tony and Alison Jenne of The Friday Harbor Jolly Trolley. “We put our hearts and guts into making this fun for everyone.”
No worries if you scare too easily; there is one day with “no scares” for the little ones. There are professionally created displays including goblin’s corner, the witches walk, the cemetery, and spooky animations.
The event is sponsored by The Friday Harbor Jolly Trolley and the San Juan County Fairgrounds. The goal is to provide a wonderful Halloween event with proceeds benefitting a non-profit that makes a positive difference in Friday Harbor.
This year the recipient is the San Juan Island Prevention Coalition. Their website is sjipc.org and their mission is to reduce substance abuse in youth and to create community culture supporting healthy choices and responsible behaviors in youth and adults. The worthwhile group of young people, called Rock Solid, and adults are reaching out to support local youth on San Juan Island. Help us help them.
“It’s our pleasure to put this on for the community, especially the kids, while still giving back to charity,” said the Jennes.
