Friday Harbor Elementary School has a new colorful addition to its playground. Early this year, the student council expressed an interest in livening up their play space. They did some research and found a stencil for the beloved state tag game that many students had enjoyed in years past. They were determined to get it back.
After talking to the PTO, they were pleased to learn that Robbie Roe, a painter and parent, was excited to make their dreams a reality. John Kurtz generously agreed to donate all of the paint.
Over spring break, Robbie came and worked for hours making the United States map. When students arrived on Monday, they were thrilled! The student council was so happy that they wanted to share their story with the rest of the community.
