It only took a few years to build this Orcas music festival’s reputation and last year the organizers of Doe Bay Fest wondered if the 10th annual might be the last. It turns out that some traditions are just too good to let go. The lineup for Doe Bay Fest 11, slated for Aug. 2-5, is listed on www.doebayfest.com. Residents of San Juan County are invited to buy discounted tickets for the 4-day event using the special discount code WE-LOVE-OUR-NEIGHBORS.

With a willingness to think outside the box and no shortage of creative talent and scenic beauty, Doe Bay Fest at Doe Bay Resort and Retreat has become an anchor of the summer season on Orcas. Tickets have historically sold out instantaneously but are now released in coordinated waves, with plenty saved aside for local islanders.

Doe Bay Fest offers special-priced tickets for teens, who are encouraged to volunteer at the festival’s free drop-in day care called Camp Doe Bay, and tickets for children 12 and under are free of charge. It’s very family friendly with special activities for kids, multiple venues and beaches, and even a few kid-centered acts.
