Debbie Daniels featured in Coos Art Museum

Coos Art Museum will be holding its 29th Maritime Art Exhibition, July 8-Sept. 22, in the Museum’s Maggie Karl Gallery, with an opening, Saturday July 8. This juried exhibit is the oldest continuous Maritime art competition on the west coast and is sanctioned by the American Society of Marine Artists. It will show marine-themed artwork by major artists from across the United States.

Debbie Daniels of Friday Harbor will be the featured artist, with a solo exhibit in the Perkins Gallery of the museum.

Debbie is a self taught oil painter who has been painting for nearly four decades. She is a member of the Oil Painters of America, Women Artists of the West, and a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists.

She has been in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She has been published on the cover of the American Society of Marine Artists (summer 2022), in Southwest Art magazine (Dec. 2017) and Northlight Books, Strokes of Genius, Best of Drawing. Her work may be found in the permanent collection of hospitals and corporations across the US, most notably at Google in Seattle.

Coos Art Museum is located on Oregon’s southern coast and has been a cultural focal point of Oregon’s scenic Southern Coast since 1966. It occupies a historic 1936 Art Deco US Federal Building in downtown Coos Bay. The Museum offers a wide range of arts activities including exhibitions, art classes, and lectures. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Museum admission: $5 general, $2 students, veterans and seniors, free to Museum members. Free to active duty military through the Blue Star Museum Program.
