Cuddly & Cute, it’s Teddy Bear Time

A free event, noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, in the patio garden and Gubelman Theatre, the Teddy Bear Picnic features face painting, crafts projects, refreshments and, of course, lots and lots, and lots, of teddy bears.

The Community Arts Theatre Society’s annual Teddy Bear Picnic returns to San Juan Community Theatre Saturday, May 17.

A free event, noon to 2 p.m., in the patio garden and Gubelman Theatre, the Teddy Bear Picnic features face painting, crafts projects, refreshments and, of course, lots and lots, and lots, of teddy bears.

“CATS is pleased to provide such a special event for all the young children in our community,” Picnic coordinator Susie Allen said. “You might be surprised how much fun it is for the adults too.”

Each child receives a complimentary small teddy bear from CATS and a book from the Early Learning Consortium and Critical Needs Task Force.

This year, local playwright, Mike Herber will provide the entertainment—a wonderful puppet show that is sure to be a big hit all ages.

Refreshments will include PB & J or grilled cheese sandwiches, fruit, juice and cookies in the shape of bears. For information, 378-3210, www.sjctheatre.org
