Concours d’ Elegance: bumper-to-bumper benefit

Ford performance cars will be the featured automobile at the 7th annual Concourse d’ Elegance, Sunday, on the grounds of San Juan Island Vineyards.

Fifty years ago the Ford Motor Company set a new standard in performance when its GT 40 hit the road.

In honor of the GT 40’s golden anniversary, Ford performance cars will be the featured automobile at the 7th annual Concourse d’ Elegance, Sunday, on the grounds of San Juan Island Vineyards.

Sponsored by the Sports Car Club of the San Juan Islands, in conjunction with the Rotary Club, the annual celebration of the “open road” and automobile is a charitable event; this year’s beneficiaries are The Family Umbrella Group, Fish for Teeth and Rotary’s international polio eradication program.

Entries gather on the vineyard grounds beginning at 9 a.m., gates open to spectators at 11 a.m.

Lunch will be available for purchase, and wine served in the pavilion. The Argyle Street Jazz Band will perform from noon to 2 p.m.; awards presentation begins at 2:30 p.m.
