The Whale Museum is having a party to celebrate its 39th birthday. The event will take place from noon-3 p.m., Sunday, July 8 in the parking lot of the American Legion, next door to the museum. The ticket price of $10 per person includes a burger (regular or veggie), chips, canned soda and a birthday cupcake plus admission to The Whale Museum. The Whale Museum appreciates the American Legion Post 163 for use of the parking lot and patio for the celebration; the Sons of the American Legion for grilling the burgers; and Jenny for baking the birthday cupcakes. This is a celebration fundraiser for the museum which was community-built and has been supported by the community since before its doors opened to the public on July 8, 1979.
Tickets can be purchased at The Whale Museum or online at www.whalemuseum.org. For more information, call 360-378-4710 ext. 30.
