I strongly object to the County Council calling a special meeting for Monday, November 28 with only six days notice over the Thanksgiving holidays on a topic as important as the CAO.
You have budgeted five hours for the meeting, which obviously means you view it as very important.
Why then did you announce the meeting at the last minute just before Thanksgiving when many citizens are traveling or otherwise focused on get-togethers with family and friends?
I understand that at least one of you consulted with the (Common Sense Alliance) about the subject and timing of the meeting. The announced date may be convenient to the CSA, but what about the rest of the citizens that you represent?
If the meeting is held on Monday as currently scheduled, my wife Susan I will be unable to attend as we are in California until next Tuesday for Thanksgiving with our daughters. I suspect that there are are many others such as ourselves who will be unable to attend for the same reason.
I strongly urge you to reconsider the timing of the meeting and set a new date that gives sufficient advance notice so that more citizens have the ability to attend.
Thanks for listening.
