According to the OPALCO board members at the May 28, 2014 meeting they held on Shaw Island, they are uncertain who was responsible for authorizing the letters from lawyers threatening Bob Jarman and John Bogert not to talk.
The letters didn’t specify what it was they weren’t to talk about. The board members suggested it might have been their lawyers who decided to write those letters but the board members weren’t certain.
These are people who are in positions of considerable responsibility for the efficient functioning of our electrical supply and its future. If they didn’t know their lawyers were threatening people to silence them, that is a considerable dereliction of duty.
If they did know and are denying it, the implications of that speak loudly about their fitness for their positions. In either case, it is dangerous to rest easy with them in office.
