We visit American Camp to enjoy the serenity — and the wildlife

I was totally amazed when I read recently that the National Park Service was going to eliminate (read "kill") the bunnies at American Camp so that the grass could grow back to the way it was in the 1800s.

I was totally amazed when I read recently that the National Park Service was going to eliminate (read “kill”) the bunnies at American Camp so that the grass could grow back to the way it was in the 1800s.

Now, I have lived here for 25 years and during that time thousands of visitors and locals have gone to American Camp not only for the serenity and beach walking but also to enjoy the wildlife — the foxes, the eagles and the BUNNIES!

NEVER have I heard of anyone going there to watch the grass grow!
