The Animal Protection Society of Friday Harbor would like to thank everyone who attended the annual “Wags to Riches” celebration last month. “Chillin’ and Grillin’” was attended by over 175 people and was a big success, raising almost $20,000 for the New Home New Hope project. An extra thank you goes out to all of our sponsors; Islanders Bank, Meat Machine Cycles, Mike’s Café and Wine Bar and Friday Harbor Pet Supplies. We’d also like to thank our donors, volunteers and those attendees who purchased naming opportunities for the new animal shelter at the event.

Many thanks also to everyone who has stopped by our new retail outlet, “Treasure Hounds” to peruse our upscale resale space, which sells gently used home furnishings, antiques, collectibles and a wide variety of artwork. Your donations and purchases support the lifesaving work we do at the animal shelter. APS continues to accept donated items at the resale store at 689 Airport Center Rd., next to San Juan Healthcare. We are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesdays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon, Saturdays.
