My first reaction to the yard signs opposing the library levy was “Yuck!” The message is crude and small-minded. Equally disturbing is their juxtaposition next to the council candidate’s sign with the motto “Protecting the Island Way of Life”. What are these people trying to say? The island way of life I know is that of people helping people. The anti-levy message is only about dollar signs, but our library is about serving an entire community. Please vote yes to keep our library services, vote yes to helping our fellow islanders. Thank you.
