On Nov. 9, Greg and Carol Ford opened their restaurant, Mi Casita, to our family to help raise money for my battle against breast cancer for the second time. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. We would also like to thank their staff for donating their time during this event, as well as all of our friends and community members that came in for dinner on this night. Greg and Carol donated all proceeds to help my family in this difficult time. I would also like to thank all of those who have donated to our GoFundMe fundraiser as well. These funds help with travel expenses, deductibles, living expenses and supplements not covered by insurance, while I am unable to work. The security and piece of mind that has been provided allows me to focus on healing, without the added stress of being unable to provide for my family at this time.

Even beyond that, the atmosphere at Mi Casita was warm and loving; all of the hugs and wishes of love and encouragement did more for me than any medicine could ever do. Knowing that I live in a community that will come together to help one of its own when in need is a treasure that is immeasurable. We have a lot to be thankful for this holiday.
