It has been my pleasure to get to know the Fincher family over the past three years as a 4-H member and leader of their son’s Astronomy 4-H Club. I am writing this letter to the paper because I believe Brad Fincher would be an excellent sheriff for our community.

Brad has the experience of being a community leader for the past 11 years and serves on both the San Juan County Fair Board and as chairman of the San Juan Island Prevention Coalition Board. These programs enhance the lives of youth (and everyone) on the islands.

Brad has great reason to care about our community, because he has two young sons that have and will grow up here. This gives him the passion to be San Juan County’s next sheriff. After all, being sheriff also includes being a positive role model, and I can think of no better role model than Brad Fincher.
