Oregon crash highlights plane safety | Letter

I was saddened to read about the small plane crash in Oregon that killed three people.

This situation is feared by many that live in Foxhall. Small private plans routinely fly over our homes cutting the approach to the airport short. I knew that aircraft flew past our homes when I purchased my home but they always approached the airport over Linde Park and not our roof tops. The last few years private aircraft is cutting the approach shorter and shorter. Commercial aircraft and larger private jets follow the proper approach.

Perhaps pilot education would be helpful. I would hope our port takes notice of these tragic deaths and helps prevent a repeat here.
