Last week, May 20-26, was National EMS Week – a time to recognize and thank a much-valued partner in the delivery of health care in San Juan County.

When someone is in need of emergency care, EMS teams provide a vital public service to the community. Early access to medical care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury. Their valued and very critical partnership with PeaceHealth ensures the communities’ emergent needs are met swiftly and adeptly.

We acknowledge all EMS team members including emergency medical technicians, paramedics, emergency medical dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and emergency nurses and physicians. Please join me in thanking our EMS professionals for their service and dedication.
