Oh, my. My name is Frank Penwell, and since Nancy Geist has chosen to try and character assassinate me, as well as others who are unhappy with the actions of the current management of the Mullis Center, and consider everything anyone else says as nothing but misinformation, I would like to set a few things straight.
· I appreciate Nancy Geist pointing out that “they” had to stop voting of the Seniors because not enough seniors were voting (things going well/complacency), and they had to STEAL the vote of seniors because they would have thrown them out (unhappy seniors/things not going well).
· I question Nancy’s view that I am all-powerful and control the Grange, among other things. If I actually had that much power, Community Treasures would have had its land use changed years ago, and the site would be a permanent facility serving our community in perpetuity. Perhaps Nancy could read the bios of those she is trashing. Historical actions and positive community contributions do speak louder than Nancy’s negative words.
· I do not appreciate Nancy Geist’s misinformation and character assassination of so many of our seniors. I have not read anything about money missing, that is yet to be determined. I do recognize that in fiscal management when over $500,000 is noted as “a simple clerical error” and 3 IRS 990 corrections are suddenly needing to be filed in a very short time period, something is amiss.
· I do not think it was right for the current Board to deny sharing of specific financial information with other Board members. That sends the message that something is being hidden. Several Board members suggested an audit, and wanted to know what happened to Lynn Carlson’s donated funds for a disabled bathroom remodel.
· Win, lose or draw, these Seniors below are respectful local citizens who will be coming to senior lunches and being involved in the Senior Center for years to come: Paul Arroyo, Carrie Brooks, Kathleen Commins, Barbara Dragin, Dave Honeywell, Nancy Honeywell, Minnie Knych, Jeff Musburger, Frank Penwell, Shannon Plummer, Marie Skuffeeda, Rich Swenson, and Dwight Ware. Please be respectful.
