I have known Stephanie O’Day for over 20 years. For 6 years I worked in Stephanie’s land use law office, as her Office Manager and Legal Assistant. I saw how knowledgeable and skilled she is in problem-solving and land use law. In the many cases handled, we worked with all of the departments in San Juan County, and opposing council, other attorneys in SJC, now whom many are endorsing Stephanie O’Day to fill the San Juan County Council District 1 position.
Stephanie is a team player and a hard worker, she gets the job done! With Stephanie in the County Council, she will immediately address solutions for affordable housing and daycare while focusing on the islanders’ best interests.
We need to save our diversified community and enrich our islands with other viewpoints, ideas, and perspectives. Stephanie is committed to ensuring that middle-class families and individuals can remain on the islands. The decisions made and laws changed by the San Juan County Council in the next few years will determine whether or not middle-class residents will economically be pushed off the islands or will be able to live, work and thrive here.
Choosing a County Council member has nothing to do with one’s federal political stance or preference. County Council members are legislators creating and changing existing local county laws.
Stephanie O’Day has passion, love and dedication to the islands, the people in them and nature; she cares! Stephanie brings her expertise in land use law, is solution orientated and open-minded.
For these reasons, I support Stephanie O’Day for the San Juan County Council District 1 position.
