You may have noticed the new outdoor stage at Brickworks and the beautiful cedar fence! Plaza improvements started up again this week, with work on covered market stalls and an entryway arch—all done by volunteers, led by Pete Kilpatrick. On June 26, massive boulders carved by San Juan Island artist Tom Small will be lifted into place to create a seating area on the lawn.

All these upgrades are made possible by volunteers and donations from the community. The Ag Guild thanks every donor and volunteer and recognizes the San Juan Island Community Foundation for its pivotal role in facilitating private donations and making its own early and generous contribution to the project. We will be creating a donor “tree” on a wall on the plaza, in grateful acknowledgment of all who have brought the new and improved Brickworks Plaza to life.
