Rooted Therapy celebrates reopening with ribbon cutting

Residents of San Juan Island now have more access to quality physical therapy services with the grand reopening of Rooted Physical Therapy at its new location at 669 Mullis Street in Friday Harbor. The expansion includes a more functional space with multiple private treatment rooms, state-of-the-art equipment to treat specialty populations and, most importantly, additional staff to meet the growing demand for rehabilitation and wellness services on the island.

The clinic’s team now consists of four clinicians plus support staff.

Michelle Stringer, founder of Rooted Physical Therapy, will return to mostly pelvic floor rehab and expand the new osteoporosis and older adult fitness programs.

Kat Burns, a board-certified orthopedics and manual therapy specialist. She also has certification in yoga, treating scoliosis and breath work.

Mateo Haentjens, experienced in pediatric physical therapy and general rehabilitation. He is a jack-of-all-trades.

Tara Plank will be joining in January.

Janie Ogle, the behind-the-scenes magician who keeps everyone scheduled

Katie Stringer, the financial guru who keeps our lights on and doors open.

“When I was a solo-clinician I was a reluctant entrepreneur and second-guessed opening the clinic for the first few years. Now that we’re here with such a strong team, I can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s incredibly rewarding to see something you created to have such a positive impact on your community,” describes Stringer.

In addition to traditional physical therapy services, Rooted Physical Therapy also offers pediatric therapy, Schroth treatment method for scoliosis, aquatic-based therapy via The Rec, wellness training, osteoporosis management, sport-specific therapy and training, annual functional mobility exams and advanced pelvic floor therapy.
