Jose L. Sanchez, a certified public accountant, has joined Lake Kennedy McCulloch CPAs.
He will focus on business management, tax, accounting and personal financial advice. He brings to the firm experience in law and accounting.
Sanchez is a graduate of Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and began his accounting career in 1982. Over the years, he has held positions in public accounting and in industry.
In industry, he was a senior auditor for American Savings and Loan at the epicenter of the savings and loan debacle in the mid-1980s. Subsequently, he was a division controller for a publicly-held real estate syndicator and developer, a position he held for five years.
In early 1990, he and two colleagues founded a real estate management company that managed commercial properties in California and Arizona. In 1997, he moved to Bothell, where he resided until recently.
For the past 13 years, he has counseled clients on tax, estate planning, probate, real estate, accounting, and intellectual property matters.
“He is a great fit for the San Juan Islands and his skills and personality suit our diverse population,” Lake Kennedy McCulloch stated in a press release.
He enjoys exploring the San Juans and the Olympic peninsula, dancing, photography, flying, and diving. He is active in the Washington Society of CPAs, serving on the board of the Sammamish Valley chapter and the taxation and personal financial planning committees.
He also volunteers his time in support of the association’s financial literacy campaign and is available for presentations to adult and student groups on financial and investment topics.
