The San Juan Island Chamber of Commerce will host a forum to discuss the idea of a possible business improvement district, on Tuesday, Dec.6, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Earthbox Motel and Spa, 410 Spring Street.

The forum will give business owners a chance to discuss improving the Friday Harbor business district with defining its goals and general beautification, improved signage for way-finding, more parking and better transportation.

The mission of the proposed Friday Harbor Business Improvement District is to “preserve and provide a thriving and customer-friendly town of Friday Harbor by improving the attractiveness and effectiveness of the downtown area, which will help businesses succeed and prosper. Business owners will have a voice in their community through election of their Business Improvement District representatives.”
