EDC offers Free workshop on Succession Planning for Small Business

Submitted by the San Juan County Economic Development Council.

The San Juan County Economic Development Council invites business owners to a free online event, “Succession Planning for Small Business,” on Tuesday, Oct.29, from 10-11:00 a.m. in English and from 11 am to noon in Spanish, led by Lorena Lowell. Pre-registration is required. Anyone who is planning to retire, sell a business or grow future leaders within their business should attend this free workshop for an overview of succession planning.

All business owners should have a succession plan for their business. With a succession plan, business owners can identify a person or entity to continue the business if a tragedy strikes or when the business owner decides to retire or sell.

The workshop will be led by Lorena Lowell, program director for the Washington Employee Ownership Program at the Washington State Department of Commerce/Office of Economic Development & Competitiveness Small Business Finance Services.
