F.H. alumni game, fundraiser begins at noon
The Friday Harbor Baseball Booster Club hosts its first-ever Wolverine alumni game Saturday at Hartman Field.

It’ll be a tug-of-war between the past and the future.

Pre-game festivities and fund-raising events begin at noon. Game time is 1 p.m.

The main event features players from past Wolverine squads, such as Fletcher Vynne, Jacob Ross and the Rothlisberger brothers, in a seven-inning contest against the team’s current roster, which includes Northwest 1A/2B League MVP Richie Ochoa.

The fund-raiser includes a barbecue, silent auction and sales of authentic Wolverine baseball caps. The highest bidder will have the honor of opening the inaugural alumni game by throwing out the first pitch.

Proceeds will help the baseball program offset growing expenses, such as travel costs and replacing equipment and uniforms.

For more information or provide donations to the event, call Wolverine Head Coach Rich Warin at 378-2318, or Assistant Coach Steve Schramm at 378-3195.
