This year’s Community Resources Fair – Connecting You to Local Resources and Services – will be held on Saturday, March 12th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Friday Harbor High School Commons.

This 2016 Fair will expand to approximately 24 presenters who will be available to discuss resources and strategies for the student’s next steps forward toward successful goals in school and beyond. The goal of the Fair is to share information about how to provide a meaningful plan for future student endeavors.

Becky Bell, San Juan Island School District Director of Special Services, said that “The collaboration at the 2015 fair helped teachers, community members, and parents to meet the organization leaders and understand what services were available to their children and young adults. Families were able to work on applying for services and make appointments with service providers right there at the fair.”

Among others, a few of the representatives include Social Security Benefits planners, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Regional Veteran’s Council, Peace Health and the San Juan County Resource Center.

There will be door prizes, snacks and demonstrations. This event is open to the public.
