Unused, unwanted, or expired medications around your home? Take them to the Take Back Program Aug. 4

Do you have unused, unwanted, or expired medications around your home and have no idea what to do with them? The answer has arrived. The San Juan Island Prevention Coalition — in partnership with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, Friday Harbor Drug, Ray’s Pharmacy, Lopez Pharmacy, Lopez Island Prevention Coalition, Orcas Island Prevention Partnership, Inter Island Medical Center, Friends of the San Juans, Mullis Community Senior Center, San Juan County Health and Community Services, and other community partners — is kicking off a Medication Take Back Program this summer.

The San Juan Island Prevention Coalition — in partnership with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, Friday Harbor Drug, Ray’s Pharmacy, Lopez Pharmacy, Lopez Island Prevention Coalition, Orcas Island Prevention Partnership, Inter Island Medical Center, Friends of the San Juans, Mullis Community Senior Center, San Juan County Health and Community Services, and other community partners — is kicking off a Medication Take Back Program this summer.

This program will give the community the opportunity to dispose of medications in a safe, more environmentally friendly manner.

The Take Back Program debuts Aug. 4, and will continue the first Wednesday of each month. Gather up any medications no longer in use and prepare to dispose of them Aug. 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Friday Harbor Drug.
